Position Summary:
We are in search of an R&D Engineer – Prototyping. This position will be instrumental in our new product development cycle. The R&D Engineer will work to support the Product Engineering team by providing prototype manufacturing in a team based, fast paced, dynamic environment. While ensuring quality, accuracy, and on-time delivery. The R&D Engineer must adhere to the Ruger core values of Integrity, Respect, Innovation, and Teamwork.

Responsibilities:
Prototyping and MFG and Design Part Creation • Firearms Design Configuration • Efficient CNC Machine Shop Integration• Design, construction, integration of CNC fixturing •Successful part creation •Tooling and gaging selection required in prototyping of high quality gun component parts • Provide technical manufacturing direction for Design Engineers • Work may involve development and testing of advanced process technology including metal cutting and fixture design
Requirements:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be self-motivated, of high integrity, and maintain confidentiality at all times. Other requirements and considerations include:
Associates degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or Engineering Technology (bachelors or masters preferred); 2–10+ years practical manufacturing experience; CAD/CAM experience; strong knowledge of setting up and operating CNC equipment; strong knowledge of manufacturing one-off parts. Strong knowledge of fixture & gauge design use; knowledge of GD&T; strong communication proficiency, organizational, presentation and problem solving/analysis skills.
Additional Requirements:
Must be able to successfully pass a drug and background screen.
