Description:

We are seeking a skilled Application Modernization Engineer to lead the modernization of our critical application. This role is crucial to ensure the continued functionality, security, and performance of our application, which is currently hosted on Solaris 10 and utilizes outdated C technology. The application requires a significant upgrade to stay relevant and efficient.

Key Responsibilities:

• Re-Platforming Effort: Lead the migration of the Operating system from Solaris 10 to RHEL 9.4.
• Programming Language Upgrade: Upgrade the programming language from C to C++20
• Performance Enhancement: Ensure the upgraded application provides enhanced performance and improved security features.
• Support Modern Practices: Implement best practices to support modern development and deployment processes.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and minimal disruption during the migration process.
• Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of the migration process, configurations, and any changes made.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Proven experience in application modernization, including OS migration and programming language upgrades.
• Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of Solaris, RHEL, C, C++20, and modern development practices. Experience with Scripting languages like bash or Korn shell is a plus
• Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Communication: Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
