Job Summary
This position leads all Engineering, Capital, Maintenance, Facilities, and Process improvement activities of the Plant Engineering and Maintenance Team.
HACCP Team Member attend monthly meetings, review/approve raw materials, chemicals and equipment, participate in annual review of HACCP Plan, and any other food safety related activities.
Responsibilities
Coordinate plant projects and work with the management team to establish priorities
Manage and direct projects to be accomplished on-time and within budget
Report activity and cost status on assigned projects, analyzing results against
schedules, budgets, and desired operative objectives recommending corrective action for variances when required
Determine the most effective deployment of maintenance and engineering resources
Facilitate development and effectiveness of engineering and maintenance resources
Prepare capital project requests and justifications
Work with and direct vendors and outside contractors as needed
Proactively pursue energy efficient methods for plant operations
Implement TPM program for production equipment
Champion standards of excellence i.e. Daily Management, Problem Solving
Prepare technical written reports as required
Assure that engineering output is in compliance with existing statutory codes, company policy, and safety standards
Maintain professional competence and knowledge of developments in processes, emerging technology and products through consultation with other company technical and professional personnel as well as industry peers
Maintain Title V Operating Permit Compliance
Maintain EPCRA Compliance
Maintain compliance with Storm Water Discharge Permit (Clean Water Act)
Maintain compliance with Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) Regulations
Essential Skills/Knowledge
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and tasks
Knowledge of Industrial controls and power distribution
Strong computer skills Excel, Word, AutoCAD, Power Point, Outlook
Excellent communication, interpersonal, project management, and technical skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Knowledge and understanding of EPA, NFPA and OSHA requirements
Good project leadership and oral and written communication skills are required
Knowledge of building construction and facility support equipment
Strong mechanical aptitude
Experience/Qualifications
BS Engineering, Masters preferred
10 or more years in a manufacturing operation in an engineering management capacity
Work Environment
This position works in a fast-paced manufacturing facility and must be flexible to meet new and changing conditions.
This may require weekend work, overtime, or alternate work hours to complete projects or tasks.
Physical Demands
Must be able to move about the facility with limited climbing, lifting, and exposure to weather as required to perform job duties
This position will frequent the manufacturing areas of the facility and must be aware of area hazards and proper safety protocols.
This requires normal vision, hearing, speaking, and safety awareness.
