Description

This company Actalent is partnering with is an industry leader in designing, manufacturing, and distributing suspended access equipment used in industrial and commercial construction and maintenance applications. Responsibilities: Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, manufacturing, marketing, customers) to understand design requirements and translate them into manufacturable solutions. Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks computer-aided design (CAD) software. Conduct stress, deflection, and other analyses to ensure designs meet performance, safety, and regulatory specifications. Develop and document detailed engineering drawings, including parts bills of materials and assembly instructions. Prepare and maintain product documentation, including customer cut-sheets, reference drawings, installation and operating manuals, and calculations to support equipment designs. Participate in the development and testing of prototypes. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics. Work closely with manufacturing to identify potential production challenges and recommend design improvements for cost reduction and manufacturability. Support quality staff with investigation of product/equipment for out of specification conditions, assembly/use difficulties and/or failures to diagnose faulty operation, and to make recommendations for improvements.

  • 10+ years of Mechanical Design Engineer experience with Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering - At least 3 years of design experience being within Solidworks cad software - recent experience - Strong experience with stress analysis and structural design (will be working with suspended access systems/customizing for application) - Must have EIT at least - pursuing/interest in attaining PE License - PE License preferred - Must be able to demonstrate calculations on structures ensuring design meets requirement - Leadership experience - will be mentoring engineering team and eventually move into leadership role

The pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $150000.00/yr.
