Data Integration & Middleware Engineer (Hybrid 3 Days Onsite)

Location: Milwaukee, WI or Woodstock, Illinois

What Youll Do

• Build and manage secure, high-performance APIs and microservices.
• Design middleware solutions that bridge cloud-based and on-premises platforms.
• Collaborate with architecture, DevOps, and business teams to turn integration needs into scalable solutions.
• Use tools like Azure Functions , Logic Apps , API Management , and Ansible to automate and optimize integrations.
• Create and maintain data models and diagrams using Visio , Lucidchart , or Miro .
• Troubleshoot integration issues and continuously improve system performance.
• Implement best practices for API security, authentication (OAuth, JWT), and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform).

What You Bring

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in API design, middleware, or system integrations.
• Solid experience with Azure cloud services and automation tools (e.g., Ansible).
• Familiar with programming languages like .NET , Python , or Node.js .
• Understanding of REST, SOAP, GraphQL , SQL , and modern database technologies.
• Comfortable working with containers (Docker, Kubernetes) and event-driven systems .
• Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and documentation skills.

Bonus Points For

• 5+ years of integration experience.
• Certifications in Azure, API design, or database tech.
• CI/CD pipeline experience.
• Familiarity with serverless and IaC tools like Terraform.
• Experience with Azure MQ , WAFs, and modern security protocols.
