Chemical Engineer Jobs in Florida
A Chemical Engineer in the manufacturing engineering industry primarily focuses on designing and troubleshooting processes for the production of products, often on a large scale. They are responsible for transforming raw materials into finished goods in the most efficient, safe, and cost-effective manner possible. This may involve the creation and use of new substances, or the development of new process technologies. Typical tasks include design, simulation, and optimization of chemical processes, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and conducting research to develop new manufacturing methods.
Important skills for this position include a strong understanding of chemistry, physics, and mathematics, as well as problem-solving, critical-thinking, and communication skills. Knowledge of computer-aided design (CAD) software and other specialized software used in chemical engineering is also beneficial. In terms of certifications, a Professional Engineer (PE) license can enhance job prospects. A Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering is usually required, and some employers prefer candidates with a Master's degree.
