Summary

Lincoln Electric is seeking a Senior Ignition Engineer for our Plymouth, MI RedViking site. The Senior Ignition Engineer will design, develop, and deploy complex SCADA systems for various industrial applications. Responsibilities include customizing and configuring Ignition software, developing user interfaces with Vision and Perspective, and managing production and backup environment installations. The role involves creating reports, configuring delivery methods, and scripting using the Ignition APIS.

** This position allows flexibility to work remotely but some in office time may be required based upon the scope of the position**

What You Will Do

  • Design, develop, and deploy complex Ignition SCADA systems for various industrial applications.
  • Integrate Ignition systems with existing PLCs, HMIs, databases, and other industrial control systems.
  • Customize and configure Ignition software to meet specific project requirements, including developing custom scripts and templates.
  • Installation of production and backup environments
  • Gateway and project configurations
  • Vision and Perspective user interface development and configuration
  • Developing reports and configuring delivery methods
  • Developing scripts using the Ignition API
  • Proven experience in designing and deploying SQL databases and developing stored procedures.
  • Customer SOW and technical specification evaluation and interpretation.
  • Travel as required.
Required Experience and Education
  • Bachelors degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience as an Ignition Automation Developer or in a similar role within the industrial automation sector.
  • Minimum 5 years experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of Ignition platform components, including Vision, Perspective, SQL databases, and scripting (Python, Java), as well as Ignition Edge.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment, demonstrating excellent problem-solving skills and adaptability to diverse plant conditions.
  • Ideal candidates will possess a passport and be willing to travel internationally, though this is not mandatory.
  • Knowledge and experience with Rockwell PLC logic.
  • Well organized, detail oriented and self-motivated;
  • Ignition Gold Certification (Inductive University) - Preferred
  • Familiarity with MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) integration and IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things) technologies. - Preferred
  • Familiarity with Allen Bradley logic - Preferred
